Venetian Islands Tour: Murano, Burano & Torcello

by Venice Tours Duration 4h 30m Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is AU$32

Venture into the Venetian Lagoon to explore 3 fascinating islands—Murano, Burano and Torcello. Learn about Murano's historic glass-making factories, Burano's colourful, centuries-old lace-making houses and Torcello's ancient Byzantine churches.

Your first stop is Murano, famous worldwide for its glass manufacturing industry. Watch in awe as talented artists create beautiful glasswork pieces that range from small souvenirs and jewellery to magnificent lamps and chandeliers.

The next island in the lagoon is Burano, known for its many brightly coloured fishermen’s houses and the local lace-making industry. Use this opportunity to pick up some artisanal souvenirs to take home.

Your final stop is the small island of Torcello, the earliest settlement of Venice and home to several Byzantine churches. Though once more populated and powerful than Venice itself, the island is now home to only 20 people. This fall from power is shrouded in mystery and legend.

Trip to the island for Murano glass gives an interesting glass blowing demo but then for the rest of the time you are ushered into the gift shop. Third island is a waste of time, nothing there

The person on the yellow booth which was the meeting point was disgustingly ill mannered. He snatched the voucher from my hands. He spoke rudely to me. He started imitating another customer when she said she couldn't understand his accent. Overall okay. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
