Explore Sekinchan—a small farming and fishing village just north of Kuala Lumpur—and see how paddy field crops are harvested, processed, and packed. Then make your way to Kuala Selangor, home of the famous lighthouse at Fort Altingsburg and experience friendly Monkeys and a boatride along the mangroves filled twinkling Fireflys.
Start your day with pickup from your central Kuala Lumpur hotel and follow your guide as you travel 59 miles (95 km) northwest of the city centre. Enjoy views of palm trees along the coastal road before you reach the fishing and farming hamlet of Sekinchan.
Upon arrival, take in the gorgeous view of the verdant paddy fields and if you are lucky, spot migratory birds from Sumatra soaring through the air. Then, head to a local restaurant to feast on a delicious seafood lunch.
After that take a short ride Kuala Selangor, just about a 30-minute drive away. Visit Melawati Hill, famously the home of mischievous and mysterious silvered leaf monkeys, a primate of the Old World monkeys. Before returning to Kuala Lumpur learn about local history at Fort Altingsburg, built by the state ruler to defend the city from foreign invasion, and admire the renowned lighthouse.
As we head towards the jetty to board the mangrove boats we will stop for dinner nearby while waiting for the tide for a perfect boat ride to visit the twinking fireflys
