Description

Follow the historical bicycle route through Singapore and get to know an authentic side of the city. Led by a local guide, this tour meanders along the Singapore River to see landmarks and historic quays, stopping for mouth-watering Singaporean cuisine on the way.

You first visit historic Chinatown, where you ride past a mosque, Buddhist temple, and Hindu temple as your guide explains the melting pot of cultures that make Singapore unique. Next, visit the Tiong Bahru Housing Estate, where you can pause to sample delicious street food at the Tiong Bahru Market if you choose.

As you cycle by the Singapore River, learn about its significance in the development of the city. Your ride shows you the Boat, Clarke, and Robertson Quays, which housed the goods that made Singapore a centre of 19th-century trade. Pass through Kampong Glam, which was home to Malay aristocracy before the British takeover in 1819, and then pedal past a number of historic and art museums in the Museum District.

Take a ride on part of the city's Formula 1 racetrack, pass by City Hall, and visit Marina Bay and the Esplanade, home to the famous Merlion statue and some of Singapore's most modern buildings. See the historic Fullerton Hotel, Raffles Place, and the Civic District, and then finish with a stop at Speakers' Corner, the only spot where citizens can hold demonstrations and rallies. Return to your starting point with a new perspective on the city.
