by Go West Tours Duration 13h Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is AU$135

Leave the hustle and bustle of Melbourne behind, and breathe in the fresh country air as you trek through the mountains. Travel from the Western Victorian Volcanic Plains to the Grampians Range with stops at waterfalls and other natural wonders along the way.

After being picked up from your Melbourne hotel, journey through the Western Victorian Volcanic Plains, heading toward the quaint historic town of Ballarat. Enjoy some morning tea at Eureka Rebellion, and then learn about Ballarat – namely its rich and prosperous heritage, which was thanks to the Gold Rush that began in 1851.

As you continue your journey, the flat volcanic plains give way to the foothills of the Grampians Mountains. Then, get ready to trek through Australian bush to the tranquil Silverband Falls for great photo opportunities.

Break for lunch at the township of Hills Gap. Keep your eyes open for the local wildlife such as kangaroos and abundant varieties of bird life. Head toward the Wonderland Turntable for a short hike to a grand canyon, where you can admire the area's unique geology.

No Grampians trip would be complete without a visit to the peaceful setting of MacKenzie Falls. Watch the water tumble over the rocks and splash into the gorge, surrounded by the aromatic eucalyptus forest. Head up the bluff trail, which offers panoramic views of the national park, and snap a couple pictures of this magical landscape.

Travel to Halls Gap for a last chance to absorb the beauty of this mountainous region. Pause and reflect on your adventure before your convenient return trip to Melbourne.

Excellent tour. The Grampians is a wonderful national park, with beautiful scenery. The driver/guide, Phil, was very good - knowledgeable, polite. The tour includes morning tea and lunch - there is a stop in Beaufort for supper at your own cost, with reasonably priced selections available. We had the chance to get up close to kangaroos, with joeys and to see emus. The bus is comfortable and has free Wi-Fi. Would definitely thus tour!

The scenery was outstanding ...from mountains to flora to wildlife...the tour had it all ! An enjoyable day and recommend to others who like the outdoors and walking treks. Lunch is basic picnic style and morning tea was good . Tour guide Jon was informative and made sure everyone was well looked after.

Noddy was a great driver and tour guide. Pick up went off smoothly and he was very organized and knew what he was doing. We had a relatively smaller group (9 people + Noddy) which really added the icing on the cake. He drove us all the way up to the Grampians to some key lookout spots, took us along some great trails for some great photo-taking opportunities. The hike wasn't too challenging for the group because we were all in relatively good fitness so it wasn't too much of a problem for us; however, some of the trails do have some uneven terrain so to any other travelers considering this option, it is great value but just make sure you're wearing some comfortable shoes to really enjoy the best this tour has to offer :-) !
