What you can expect

Take an easy 2 hour stroll down North Terrace in Adelaide, known locally as our “Cultural Boulevard”. Hear about the unique way in which South Australia was colonised, as well as some of the stories behind some of our colonial characters who helped shape our society. Learn more about our cultural institutions including the State Library of South Australia, South Australian Museum, South Australian Art Gallery, the University of Adelaide and many more.

A great tour for an introduction to Adelaide, particularly for overseas or interstate visitors and it is an easy-paced walk on flat terrain along our wide and spacious North Terrace. We also weave our way in behind North Terrace to the site of an old Destitute Asylum and an old Police Barracks which were both utilised from around the 1850's right through to the first World War.

This tour will whet your appetite to come back and explore in more details the major institutions along the route.
