Description

Check out some of the most important points in and around Barcelona with 2 days touring the region's remarkable sights. See the enduring works of Antoni Gaudí with visits to Park Güell and Sagrada and visit the historic monastery of Montserrat.

Day 1 Meet your group at the Plaça de Catalunya to begin your second day of exploration with a ride into the Catalan mountains. At Montserrat, a sacred mountain located outside the city, you pay a visit to the museum for a look at the region's cultural heritage.

At the Benedictine abbey of Santa Maria de Montserrat, you get a look at the remarkable Gothic and Renaissance architecture of the mountainside basilica, visit its atrium and its sacristy, and see an interesting permanent exhibition on the image of the Virgin of Montserrat that is enshrined within. See how the image has changed over the years before you start your return journey to Barcelona.

Next, step inside the grandeur of Sagrada Família, a basilica that became Gaudí's ultimate work. Admire the façades and the interior of the shrine. Enjoy the light as it goes through the windows and learn about the history of its construction.

Not impressed The tour was ok. Please note that this is not a 2 day tour. It is basically 2 half days tour. The rating is low because this was not made clear by Expedia in the tour information. The first day was at Montserrat started early. We stopped at one café on the motorway where our guide forgot about us and left. Soon they came back. The place was very nice but the tour was very short. I don’t know what was the rush to go back before 12:00 noon. The second day was better and the guide was also good (I think her name was Sarah). but again only until 12:00 noon. I don’t understand why would Expedia call it a 2-day tour. Anyways, the places were nice and I would recommend people to visit these places but not with this tour.

Our guide yesterday Gordi, was excellent, very knowledgeable and interesting for the parc Güell and Sagrada Familia visit. He also spent the afternoon with us for the walking tour trough the Gothic quarter. We give him a 10.
