Ride a glass-bottom boat to this scenic island to find out about the conservation of turtles and prevention of illegal turtle trade.

Turtle Island is a small islet surrounded by stunning coral north of Nusa Dua Beach. Here hundreds of tiny turtles are bred and released into the ocean. Bring the whole family to watch the hatching and feeding processes of these cute creatures.

The green turtle is among the animals protected by the Indonesian government. Visit the Turtle Conservation and Education Centre, where three species are raised and released to the sea. Volunteers and staff at the center work to educate people to reduce illegal turtle trade.

You can also learn about the island and its shelled inhabitants through a guided tour included in many excursion packages from hotels in the region. Participate in the memorable turtle release into the ocean.

Arrive here via a glass-bottom boat and marvel at the range of colorful fish swimming beneath your feet. The captain usually stops the boat several times for travelers to enjoy the picturesque views of fish and coral. Stroll along the paths on Turtle Island and spot snakes near your feet, exotic birds in the sky and even fruit bats in the trees.

Capture photos of the excellent views and intriguing animals. Make sure to bring sufficient sun screen and a hat. Purchase snacks and drinks on the island.

Pay a fee per person for your trip with a boat tour operator to the island. Donations to the island for sustainability work are also welcome. Many tour operators include fun watersports activities in a visit to Turtle Island.

Try parasailing, windsurfing, and snorkeling from the tours on nearby Tanjung Benoa Beach. Banana boats and Jet Skis are also available to use here. Stay at one of the luxury hotels in the region.

Turtle Island is just north of the Nusa Dua Beach in the Serangan area. It is a little southeast of the city of Denpasar and east of the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Once you arrive on the island you can easily get around on foot. Visit nearby attractions, such as the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Hindu statue and the fun Waterblow spout of ocean waves.
