Great location, however the place looks very tired and run down. It is also very overpriced! The kitchen facilities are completely unusable (filthy and in terrible condition). It is a shame as the lodge has a lot of potential.

Nice Hotel at the end of a trek. NOT at the start.

Pulled in early afternoon. Staff friendly. Accommodation underwhelming. Have camped and gone backpackers before. Room was a slight level above this but at thye price and what was expected - werent pleased. Tried to get a refund (this will continue) gave key back at 3pm and said we will not be staying. Need refund!

Decent stay

We stayed one night at Glen Helen in a family room. The aircon was great and quiet, small pool much appreciated and overall a decent stay. The bathroom and beds seemed old and there was a smell in bathroom but it was manageable. For the outback it was a good stay as minimal options from Alice Springs; likely needs upgrading and more thoroughly cleaned to be rated higher. Food and drinks available to purchase and very good but pricey

Your locality is nice.

Pros: restaurant ,Very good chef preparing tasty meal. perfect service.
Cons: Bathroom ,do modernise accommodation.
Location: Location is perfect ,and the other localities are beautiful to see them.
I did not expect so much ,but if you want to charge more $ per room you have to improve facility, modernise.I know some part is in a progress. You have a guest from ower the world and you have to show them Australia is on the top standard of living.

Great location, fun and quirky place.

Pros: Setting and atmosphere, restaurant, friendly vibe.
Cons: A bit more insulation in the rooms, as they are pretty drafty.
Location: Spectacular gorges and walks.
Loved the setting, and also the communal feel of the place. Great to sit inside in the evening listening to live music, or reading and hanging out. The outdoor setting is magnificent. The rooms are very basic and small, but the great communal areas more than make up for this. The restaurant does really good food.

A pearl in the middle of nowhere!

Very friendly staff, a real dream to find such lovely hotel near the Glen Helen Close. Excellent location, spacious, a charming little pool, nice terraces on different locations around the homestead. Enjoyed a delicious dinner in the cosy restaurant. All in all the best place on our trip in the Red Centre.

Place to stay after a hard day on the road.

Pros: The staff went out of their way to be welcoming and friendly.
Cons: An injection of capital to really clean up the whole facility
Location: The location was great being right in the middle of the Macdonnel ranges and all the tourist attractions that area has to offer.
First appearance was very much of a shock. The advertisement was more than a little misleading in regard to the ambience and standard of the facility. All the staff were very pleasant, efficient and helpful. The overall cleanliness of the facility was fair with regards to the internal parts of the facility however the accommodation standard really left a lot to be desired and the grounds were a hotchpotch of run down buildings and clutter everywhere. Definitely in need of a major clean up. I also felt that the prices were way over the top when considered that it is only 131 kilometres from Alice Springs.
