I liked the location at Dupont Circle. The staff was friendly. The room is small but cozy. The kitchenette is very good. Breakfast was modest but ok. I didn't like that the Residence was closed when I arrived in the early morning, and I had to wait outside in the cold weather for about half an hour. The invoice that I received at the end of my stay had the wrong total and numbers did not add correctly. I advise all customers to look at their invoices carefully before leaving the Residences.

    Nice place, disappointing room.

The folks here were lovely and accommodating. The room left an awful lot to be desired. First, there is no accessible entrance to either the reception area or to the room. There weren’t a lot of stairs, but I had three bags, one a large rolling suit bag, and managing the steps was problematic. The “living” area in my room was tiny. It was nice to have a full service kitchen, although I couldn’t really avail myself. The “living room” could not accommodate for than a chair (not even a loveseat). There was no place for me to position my luggage to make access better. I had to place my garment bag on the floor and live out of it that way since there was no really place (i.e. a dresser) to store my personal effects. The bed (which was comfortable) is on a loft area requiring several steps to get to, the last of which is much higher than standard. I was fine since I am mobile, but this could be a big problem with someone with a semblance of a mobility problem. It was VERY tricky even for me...someone in relatively good shape) to navigate that first drop as I descended the loft in the morning. Also, the “ceiling height” was not even 6’ in clearance. Anyone taller than 5’9” or so would have a difficult time maneuvering the space. Again, the staff was very nice and accommodating, especially on Saturday evening when I got stuck in the old-style elevator for about 10 minutes, and it was reasonably priced, the the rooms leave a lot to be desired. I’ll likely not stay here again.

This room was booked for Valentines Day weekend did me and my girlfriend. I expected the room to look somewhat like the pictures advertised online. The room was nothing like it. There was only a chair in front of the TV, clearly meant for one person, we had to glance down at our tv from the bed which was actually situated in a loft upstairs. We could not even sit in front of the tv to watch it without one person using a hard metal chair meant for a kitchen table. Also, the online pictures show a kitchen table; every picture advertised online showed a full couch next to a bed, and all of the same level. I did not expect to have to climb stairs in the middle of the night in the dark to use the bathroom. And might I add, the toilet clogged at 2am the first night, I went downstairs to the lobby and asked for a plunger, and the person looked at me like I had 3 heads. They finally found one, though. The sky light remote barely worked, after about 15 times of pressing the button the sky light finally opened. The bathroom door was stuck and did not close when we first got there, we had to re-align it on the track for it to shut. When I asked for a room change, the only room they claimed to have available that looked like the online pictures was a room on the first floor right next to the lobby desk and on the street level. Even though this was booked over a month in advance, I still ended up with a room that looked nothing like the pictures.

    • Liked: Cleanliness

I liked the location of the hotel, in the middle of Dupont circle. I also liked the white color of the furniture. So cheerful. I did not like the very modest breakfast nor its service if anything is missing, such as milk or creamers. I also did not like the fact that there is not any source of fresh air and that the windows are ceiled and overlooking a wall or other rooms.
