Really bad

The room stunk of urine. The bathrooms were dirty. No access to a fridge

I recently stayed at the Megaboom Hotel and the facilities were superior to the Criterion and it was cheaper. The was not even a towel rail to hang wet towels on; no anywhere to hang clothing. The one chair provided became a multi-use tool. Positives are location, close to the Town Hall station and nightlife; easy checkin and checkout was a breeze.

You get what you pay for.

Pros: Location. Cheap.
Cons: Everything could be improved.
You get what you pay for and I didn't pay much for the location.

Ensuite floor disgusting and the place was dirty. When I arrived we had to move bags of linen to get up the stairs. Broken door on shower. The only positive was clean sheets. I’ve stayed in plenty of pub stays and this was the most run down I’ve seen. Thank God my wife wasn’t with me as she wouldn’t have used the ensuite.

The shower was filthy, there was no basin in the toilets and the General S tate of cleanliness was extremely bad. The room overlooked Park St and, apart from being noise affected, “rattled” whenever trucks went by. One of the worst places we have ever stayed in EVER.

Pros: - Convenient location only a block from Town Hall Train Station. Cons: - Street noise is constant; car horns, sirens, doors banging, most of the night. - Communal bathroom and toilet up the hallway. - Bathroom in particular was unclean, uninviting and everything was damp. Light didn't work.

Comfy beds with terrible bathrooms

The room was surprisingly nice with comfortable mattresses, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Not so nice were the disgusting showers and toilets. If you're staying here spend the extra money on an ensuite room, once you see the state of the shared bathrooms you won't regret it.
