Very poor service and a ‘drying cupboard’!

When paying $3000 for 1 room over 2 nights; one expects a modicum if service. Unfortunately, the majority of the breathtaker staff couldn’t facilitate this and made it clear that actually performing customer service is an inconvenience to their modus operandi. When we offered to wait until the final sitting at the restaurant was completed to dine (and pre-order if necessary so as not to prevent the chefs from finishing on time), we were simply told they couldn’t ‘fit us in’ and that we should ‘try our luck’ next door or in down. A charming result when paying so much for a hotel experience. It would have been very easy to fit is in for dinner (not to mention the substantial missed revenue for the restaurant). I would never stay or recommend breathtaker again.

Lovely apartment close to tracks

We were looking for a nicer & roomier experience this trip - rather than a lodge for Bike Buller festival. The Breathtaker was one of few available. We were not disappointed. The 2 br apartment was well appointed, although the living area was on the smaller side for 3+ people. this was well overshadowed by the pool facilities, restaurant with complimentary breakfast (on the large balcony - note it is summer), and amazing customer service, with hands on management. Plenty of areas outside of the room to take time out. Bikes able to be stored in ground level storage areas. From the moment we arrived, until departure, we were welcomed and nothing was too much of a problem for staff. Great to allow U18’s in adult pool area from 4-6pm. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous Boutique Hotel in the heart of Mt Buller.

We stayed in a large group at The Breathtaker to enjoy the off-season scenery and to experience the Mountain Bike racing across the Labour Day Weekend. We had quite the adventure. Amazing views. Perfect weather. Excellent service. Couldn't be happier.

Great location, great service

Great location. All staff extremely helpful and helpful. Would def stay again. Great set up for kids with games room and relaxed eating.
