Room booked for three adults, only 2 cups and refreshments for 2 people. Very dim lighting in the pool and NO lights in the steam or sauna rooms and I mean NO lights at all making both rooms completely unusable. People that did venture in whilst we were there said it was very awkward and dangerous as you couldn't see where to sit and if anyone else was already in there. Booked this hotel for the leisure facilities as a treat for my daughter, very very disappointed.

Well where do I start. We arrived and were promptly put in a “dog friendly” room. It was absolutely shit. It was in the basement, dark and dingy, and obviously not cared for. Every other dog friendly hotel I’ve been to has not only given me a room equal to the other guests, but they have provided a dog bed and bowls. This was not the case. Next we went to the restaurant. Except there was an event on so we had to go to the room usually used for afternoon tea. We couldn’t find it as it was a maize and the signs to show where to go were basically non existent. A guest had to direct us! When we arrived it was not a room suitable for dining. It was a tad morbid in fact, and the staff seemed very stressed. As a former waitress, I really felt for them. It seemed that the management was to blame. When the dinner arrived ( a gnocchi dish which cost £16 per serving ) it was clear that the sauce was microwaved. I’ve cooked better gnocchi at home! When the wine arrived it not only took about 20 minutes, but it was warm. Like it had been under someone’s armpit for a while! Safe to say we said it was not satisfactory for the price and left. I ended up booking another hotel nearby, and spoke to the on duty manager to explain why we were so unhappy. They didn’t argue, or try to keep us there. They told me my card wouldn’t be charged, but they ended up holding the full payment ( over £200 ) for at least 5 days! This hotel is like a scene straight out of fawlty towers.
