- Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, room comfort
This place was terrible. Said it was a 4 star but it’s definitely not. The room was dirty. I was overcharged and had to keep calling to get my refund. Very disappointing.

Located in Goleta, Kimpton Goodland is in the business district and near the beach. Those looking for an activity can check out Stearns Wharf, while everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of Los Padres National Forest and Goleta Beach. Santa Barbara Zoo and Center for Urban Agriculture at Fairview Gardens are also worth visiting.
This is my 2nd time having the same problem with Kimpton (different hotels each time). We book a hotel during a holiday, the hotel fails to disclose that key amenities are closed (this time the main bar was closed that is the primary reason I chose to stay here), and last time it was the restaurant that was closed. This time, the restaurant would only seat you if you were eating a prefix meal of $60 per person, and were also not very accomodating for seating us without a reservation. All of this would be fine if they disclosed these facts prior to booking.....it's misleading advertisement. Also, our check in took too long. The only upside is that Cheryl (who will ultimately respond to this message) made attempts to be accomodating by checking in with us and escalating our complaints to the GM of the restaurant. The bartender in the restaurant was also a good sport. General vibe in that hotel is that you're employing college-age teens who do not have much customer service experience. Does not seem like anyone there gives a shit, other than Cheryl and the restaurant GM who moved from Park City recently. The property is super conveniently located close to my girlfriend's family, so it's a shame this was such a substandard stay. I heard the hotel used to be a Holiday Inn, and other than some added contemporary art I don't really see a difference in quality.
