You owe it to yourself to experience this place.
The Manila Hotel is an institution. It is a gem in the rough. Yes, you can see where it's a little tired in the corners, but this place was built in 1912. Let's see how well you're holding up when you're over 100! The staff were simply amazing. Everyone wears a different uniform according to their station. The food was good, the bed comfortable, and the shower was awesome! You feel like you're staying somewhere that you paid way too much money for, but you didn't. ^_^

Not What it Once Was, but Battling Mightily
The grande-dame. Is still the grand-dame of Manila in pre-war tradition. From tea in the lobby to sextet in the lobby at night, chocolates delivered to the room in the afternoon, it fights a lone battle to offer a gracious stay. If ambiance is your thing, this is your place. Still, amenities are modern, from CR to mini-fridge and safe, bed was comfortable, HVAC functioned well, and there was plenty of hot water. Stay during the Traslacion of El Nazareno made this stay unique!

Staying in The Manila Hotel was the one of the best part of my vacation in the Philippines recently. My husband and I stayed for 5 full days and we really had a great and grand time. The staff are very caring, friendly and accommodating. All are very respectful. The hotel itself is a home away from home. Our experience is wonderful and excellent!
