Ground Floor room not best choice

Pros: Good views, pleasant walk in to town
Location: Close to lakefront so easy access to a walk with a moving view
Rooms on other floors with colleagues were much better and I will request one of these next time

The exterior and lobby of the hotel are impressive but the rooms are very dated. Hotel room was not clean and was very dusty. Balcony was tiny and the room was very loud with external noises. Hotel staff were disappointingly rude and the stay was not worth the money.

Perfect view

My son and i stayed at rydges, what a special place. The building has gorgeous old world charm, we had no high expectatiins, just to relax and enjoy our time in queenstown. It was lovely to have such a beautiful lake view, and to be easy walking distance to town. If we do manage to get to queenstown again, we will stay at rydges again.

A great lakeside location

Staff were very professional, helpful.warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Front lounge/reception area is a very comfortable area to relax if you have some wait time. And the coffee I had while I waited was great. (and I'm fussy!) I then had only a five minute walk to the town centre tour bus pickup point. Everything you need is close.

A shame to the Rydges hotel group

On site parking is advertised but for a hotel of this size it was just ridiculous. Rooms are a good siz with lovely views, carpet is poorly maintained. Bathrooms need to be renovated. Made the mistake of going swimming ended up with stinging eyes due to contamination. I would not chose to stay here again. I booked with Rydges taking into consideration its brand power. Unfortunately it was not up to my expectations.

Great location, but hotel rooms feel dated.

Fantastic location easy to walk everywhere. The hotel rooms themselves feel dated. If your looking for somewhere warm, dry and a place to sleep then perfect, but if your looking for something a little bit special I would try else where.

Good brand but aged hotel.

Great location and comfortable beds but thats about all. The hotel is quite aged with worn, smelly carpets especially in the hallways. Bathrooms in desperate need of a refresh. Overall below expectations for a Rydges Hotel.

View from the hotel is worth waling up!

Lake views, the hotel from exteriors is the most grand looking property on the wakatipu lake. Hotel room needs a bit of rennovation to catchup with the beaitiful and modern lounge, bar and restaurant. I cannot highly recommend a trip to the bar on 6th floor and the buffet restaurant bazaar. A bit of pinch on the pocket but the spread and again views make it worth it. This hotel is all about keeping the lake view on point no matter where you are. Also the short walk to city center is not only convenient but beautiful!

Great Stay, very friendly staff, always smiling and helpful. The coffee at reception to take up to the room is a great way to start the day! Good location, just a little walk to the buzz, but nicely quite as a result of being a bit of a walk (5 minutes)...Would recommend!
