Close to town, friendly staff

Pros: Location, views, apartment size and layout
Cons: None
Location: Town is minutes away by car and can be walked by the more energetic thought it would take a little while to get there.
We had a lake view apartment, great view worth higher cost verses a courtyard apartment. The layout and facilities are ideal for a family with kids allowing you to cater for meals in the apartment or using the resort restaurant. Town is minutes away by car and can also be walked though will take a little while to get there a great place to base yourself while visiting Queenstown and the surrounding area.

Claustrophobic room but easy access to town n acti

Pros: At the very least we got the corner unit so we were lucky to get a mountain view even though we booked a courtyard view room.
Location: We did it all - alpine flight with snow landing, Lord of the rings Glenorchy tour, Milford sound cruise, Parajump and skyline Gondola. Tss Earnslaw
No windows in the courtyard view room we got. with 2 BR and living room and kitchen booked for a family stay, it was claustrophobic, to say the least. No controls on the central ventilation system either! Tea was not refilled until requested ( all 5 days!) Dirty towels were not collected from the floor after service but reusable towels left on rack was changed daily, cleaners should read hotel recycle policy! NO vaccuming for all 4 nights we stayed. Though we expected a 4.5 star hotel, we were glad to get back to our beautiful home. Did not feel luxury at this hotel stay.

Disappointing experience

Stayed here for one night - was of the understanding that we would have a nice view of the lake and with a balcony - when instead we got a room that adjoins another one with virtually no view of the lake. Could hear every word from the connecting room. I advised them on checking out about my concerns and that if they had of let me know about the room location when I checked in that I would have upgraded the room. No apologies given whatsoever. Also their $22 full buffet breakfast was horrid.

The room itself was great. The staff courteous and helpful. The breakfast was so bad though we were scared off from even trying the restaurant for anything else. And the hotel lobby decor (common to the region admittedly) of dead animal skins and skull wasn't appreciated by some members of our party.

Loved staying here would definitely stay again. Service was great. Only downside was needed a few more kitchen necessaties such as bowls and microwave (had to make my morning porridge with boiled water in the jug and in a mug) but other than that was awesome.

Good location, friendly staff

The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times, the shuttle bus into town was very handy for us. The hotel layout is extremely confusing to get from foyer to room, we were on the third floor, we had to walk through corridor, up stairs, down the elevator 2 floors then walk through the car park to walk through another long corridor then up another elevator 2 levels to get to our floor, very annoying. Unfortunately the room itself was a bit disappointing, there was hardly any storage space, the 'wardrobe' was about 60cm wide with 3 coat hangers. Then 2 small drawers and 2 tiny bedside tables that didn't even fit my underwear or socks. As winter is the peak season in this town you can imagine more clothes are needed inc snow gear, we had to store most of our clothes over the chair and leave the rest packed in our suitcase. The room service literally only takes away towels (1 day this wasn't even done and they were left piled up in our shower) and replaces them, cleans floor and surfaces and remakes the bed wth existing sheets. There is a sign on the back of the dooor confirming this. We used glasses, plates and cutlery and at no time was it replaced, we stayed for 6 days. Same as the ashtray on the balcony was overflowing by the time we left. There was 1 teeny bin in the bathroom only which was insufficient for the rubbish. Having said all that our room had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains and the shower and tile heating in the bathroom was a really nic

Lovely stay just a tiny iusse

Shower when used fills up fast n floods bathroom floor soaking all in its path n awkward getting out safely in case of slip it seems the plug hole wasn't big enough or the shower needs sealed at the bottem. ..other than that wee iusse we had a lovely stay

Not good value for money

I stayed here seven years ago for $99 a night...this time around paid $300+. The rooms are ok but the bathrooms are tired and the property lacked the facilities of other cheaper places like USB chargers working USB tv connections etc. Some staff were good but we had one particular person who could not speak English well.
