An AC in the room would have been nice. But well, it's northern Tassie and apparently it hardly ever gets too hot :).

Yes, mostly daily temp is around 22 C, not 28 C as it was when you arrived. Lucky it cooled down at night! For our usual type weather the ceiling fans are all that is needed for comfort. Thank you for your review. All the best.

Room No.1

Pros: The location and view and the luxurious appointments of the room.
Location: Easy to find and close to the main street for shopping and beach activities.
The room had a terrific view of the town and of Bass Strait. It was close to the beach and the main street, shops , hotel etc. Chris the manager allowed us to check in early to change as we were getting married. He was a very welcoming and friendly host. The breakfast was ample and arrived when requested. A great town and a wonderful place to stay. We will be back.

Perfect for our over night stay

Pros: Close proximity to penguin shops and the beach.
Cons: nothing
Found Chris to be very friendly and helpful which made our stay an enjoyable one.

Great view. Warm reception. Would visit again.

We stayed for one night. Booked last minute. Had a warm reception from Chris. We were really tired after two terrible nights and the comfortable bed was pure heaven. Would visit penguin again

New and clean but...

We had a one night stay recently here. The accommodation was new and clean but the host was not welcoming and seemed disinterested in interacting with us, even when we asked for local information about going to view the penguins. Some of the bathroom fittings e.g. hooks and sink tap were very loose and need fixing. This was our most disappointing stay in Tasmania.

We are not sure which guest this is as the review is anonymous but we are surprised by it. We are always engaging with our guests and answer all questions about Penguins and other attractions in a friendly way. We tell all guests where the two main locations are to view the Penguins in the evening, usually around 9.30 pm. We have an information sheet that we hand out. We have information on the reception desk. The wall hooks for wet towels and the sink tap sometimes get loose from regular use by guests and we tighten them up every couple of weeks. Any look at our many reviews both here and elsewhere will show that this particular review is most rare. But we are sorry that you were disappointed.
