Beautiful Quamby

Pros: The ambience, food and great service.
Cons: Fly wire screens on the Windows.
Location: Golf, great little store at Hagley, close to Longford which offered a lot of historical buildings, close to Liffy Falls and convienent to Launceston.
The stunning location along with a beautiful nine hole golf course sets you up for the most wonderful experience in the magnificent building so tastefully furnished and with all the modern convienences on hand. The entire experience is sublime. The food and wine were amazing along with superb staff, especially Amelia. We have been here before and said we would be back. We are so glad we returned. Everyone should experience Quamby Estate. We will be back again. Sooo good.

Exquisite

The grandeur of this estate is followed through to every detail. Room 1 was perfect in every way. Our hosts were faultless and charming. I would not hesitate to recommend this the Quamby Estate to my freinds. Be mindful that the property is a little way out of Launceston - but this adds to the magic Deb & Barry

Stylish retreat

Pros: Staff, quietness, and state of restoration.
Cons: Add a Continental breakfast option for those who don't want cooked breakfasts. Dinners were good, but not value for money, so include a glass of wine.
Location: It is central to many towns, including Launceston, that are worth exploring, and it is an easy drive to the Western Tiers and Cradle Mountain.
The house has been beautifully restored and modernised, the golf course was a wonderful surprise, and the staff are accommodating, friendly, and efficient. We had a spa room which was spacious, beautifully appointed, and comfortable, and it was difficult to know there were any other guests in the hotel. We used Quamby Estate partly to have a restful few days and partly as a base for touring and it was perfect for both. A highly recommended destination.

Pros: location
Cons: signage
It was a cold windy and rainy night but the room fire and heated bathroom floors made it seem like another world.

Nice renovated historical building

Pros: Nice traditional old feel. Good service
Cons: not much
Location: not too far from Launceston, but need car to get to and from
Had bridal suite (no,not our wedding). Fantastic room and facilities separated from main building, giving you your own little court yard. Room had spa, and large shower with four post bed. The estate itself is a beautiful country estate, with 9 hole golf course next door. Did not play, but looked at closest 2 holes. Looked like good condition and would like to take it on some time.

Very tired and over priced

Location: Very isolated unless you want to play golf.
We stayed in their top room and while the bathroom was spotlessly clean the bedroom was dusty and had a number of bugs in it, one on the bed head directly above my head. There was a couch in the room which was thread bare to the point the fabric had split. There was dust on the kettle and it was evident that the room had not been freshened up prior to our arrival. The only staff was a young long haired male who whilst very nice was not dressed or of the standard you would expect for such an expensive accommodation. Everything from the door mats at the entrance were worn out and tired looking.
