Oldie but a goodie.

Pros: Price, magic shower, comfy beds and friendly staff.
Cons: Cater for breakfast.
Location: Carrington is 5 minutes to Newcastle city centre by car.
Rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The building is very old and in need of serious work. However, the basics were good and the pub was nice. Good communal shower and toilet facilities. Breakfast is 2 blocks away at bistro type pavement restaurants. Overall a good cheap alternative.

Hi David, Thank you for your feedback., and glad you loved our beds and showers! We would love to cater for breakfast but as a small establishment and not everyone requiring it, it would not be cost effective to us or our guests. We are glad you were able to have breakfast at one or our lovely local cafes. Cheers

Nice hotel, convenient and well priced

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Criterion. The room was clean and comfortable and relatively quiet after about 10 - 11pm apart from an occasional alarm going off outside that seemed to be the rail level crossing down the road. Carrington is a great little suburb and is an easy walk or drive to the city. Would highly recommend!

HI Brad, Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at our hotel. We think Carrington is a great little suburb too, and yes unfortunately due to our industrial heritage you will sometimes hear the train signals and Ship horns. All adds to the character we think!! Look forward to maybe welcoming you here another time Cheers

Nice little family owned hotel

Pros: Cleaniness, and the remote control for lights and fans.
Cons: The kitchen close too early. It closed at 9pm. Can't even get chips or something quick.
Location: Has a nice bar chill out place. There's a cafe inu nearby - highly recommended Close to the beaches.
The overall experience was pretty good. Everyone seems friendly. The room and toilets are very clean.

HI Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Apologies for the kitchen to being open, but as we are not in a high traffic location it doesn't make sense to keep it open after this time. We look forward to seeing you again. Cheers
