Excellent service and location, couldnt be happier

The hotel staff were very good, excellent service all around from check in, room cleanliness, and help with getting around as well as storing my bag. The location is very central. I couldn't recommend this hotel more. This was my final stop on an around the world trip (Australia to US to Europe to Singapore back to Australia) and this was my best experience. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay here again.

Great location and staff

We booked into the Amoy being attracted by its character and atmosphere. Both factors were met admirably but as a bonus we found that the hotel was very close to a great range of restaurants, cafes and bars in close proximity. Also we were more than impressed by the extremely helpful and friendly staff who made us feel so welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. We felt as though we had stayed with a family by the time we left. If you are looking for a flash hotel with buffets and lounges it isn't for you but if you are looking for a taste of Singapore character , a vibrant location and the best staff then it is highly recommended.

This hotel was in a great location just near the edge of Chinatown and close to the CBD. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. A great place to stay, I will definately be back to visit.

Friendly hotel near to Chinatown

Pros: Its uniqueness, location and friendly staff
Cons: Bit more variety for breakfast but that is only a very minor quibble - in fact really trying hard to think of anything.
Location: Very close to Chinatown with all its history, close to transport and bars, cafes and restaurants.
My wife and I were in Singapore for the first time. I am so glad we chose Amoy. What a beautiful hotel that is in an old temple. The history, the architecture, the friendly staff who cannot do enough to help you. Add to that its closeness to Chinatown, cafes, restaurants, bars and with an underground stop right opposite, what more could a traveller want.

Loved the location and the service

Pros: Location and service
Cons: Sound proofed lavatory!
Location: Chinatown, lots of cheap and cheerful eateries as well as more up market food options. Right across the road from Telok Ayer Station.
If you want a break from the typical modern high rise hotel but still want five star mod cons and excellent service the Amoy fits the bill. Almost 'Marigold Hotel' over the top at times, that over-enthusiasm by the staff seems quite genuine and friendly, not forced. Location is tops - close to 'Satay St' and other cheap and cheerful food courts, as well as some interesting up market eateries. Amoy's inclusive cooked breakfast, mini bar and loaner smartphone all add up to a good value package. Our room was a bit snug (there's only a thin glass partition separating the loo from the bedroom, so you need to be on good terms with your room-mate) but was modern and comfy.

Outstanding service level

Pros: Everything was great
Cons: Rooms are not too spacious but acceptable for a big city.
Location: Chinatown - lots of restaurants. MRT.
Really great location that is close to Chinatown and an MRT station. The outstanding feature of this hotel is the well trained and very pleasant staff members. They read any requests you may have made at time of booking (I don't take this for granted since many hotels do not bother to review requests) and ensure your needs are met. The rooms are comfortable (not huge) and the bathroom facilities work well. Breakfast was great in a simple but quality way. Nothing is too much trouble. Good wifi. Comfortable bed. Well stocked drink/snack supplies.

Exceptional service!

Pros: Personalised service, room, added extras such as coffee machine and complimentary minibar, location, setting.
Cons: Nothing.
A small boutique hotel set in traditional Chinatown shophouses. Exceptional personalised service with lovely touches you wouldn't get in a larger hotel i.e. a personalised note in room each evening. We have never experienced such great service. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help, even went as far as walking us to where we wanted to go. Hotel facilities were modern and every detail thought of i.e. coffee machine in room and complimentary minibar. Excellent location right next to MRT station. Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and would stay again.

Nice hotel in downtown Singapore

Pros: Very service focused. Attentive but not intrusive.
Location: Very central to downtown area with MRT station right next door. Very quiet over the weekend but much more lively during the week.
What a great place to stay for a long weekend. Very central to the downtown area and right next to Chinatown, the AMOY is one of those hotels that just works. Close to public transport. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Staff were exceptional and always looking to assist, even to the point of walking you to places nearby to make sure you settled in. Overall, a very enjoyable experience for our 4 night stay.
