The hike to the viewpoint is a challenge, and rewards you with an unparalleled panorama of the island. Prefer waterfalls? Hin Lad Waterfall is just two kilometres from town. It's easy to get to through a short track winding into the jungle, and has a great swimming hole to refresh in the cool mountain water. If you venture further south, don't miss Na Muang Waterfall. It's simply spectacular as towering falls of water rain down into the pools below.

On Saturday evenings the seafront plaza in Nathon Town transforms into a busy walking street. Stalls overflowing with local food and products are jammed in tight with clothes and souvenirs. Strolling through the bustling crowd you get to experience the real Thailand, a must if you love absorbing the local culture on your travels.
