Accommodation In Mount Victoria

How would you like a cosy little mountain retreat? Our select Little Hartley accommodation is the perfect base for exploring the fascinating heritage area in the magnificent Blue Mountains.

Little Hartley is a rural village in the Blue Mountains area of New South Wales. It lies just off the Great Western Highway, about 150km west of Sydney and 20km southeast of Lithgow and is part of a heritage area including Hartley and Hartley Vale. This is ‘explorer country’ where you will feel like you are taking a step back in time. In the 1830s, Hartley was one of the first settlements west of the Blue Mountains and made it possible to expand and develop inland Australia. Explorers and pioneers were helping to open up the wild mountain country making it accessible and habitable. In the 1850s the area was busy and prosperous. Strzelecki was one of the first to find gold in Australia near Hartley, and it was soon a centre for prospectors who headed to the area to try their luck.

In Little Hartley you can enjoy quiet and privacy. In nearby Hartley you can enjoy the traditional homesteads, some transformed into art galleries, cafes or pioneer museums. Visit the Hartley Historic Village, which preserves the colonial buildings and the area’s rich history. When you want to venture further, take the highway and you’ll have easy access to the village of Mount Victoria about 10km to the southeast and the highest point in the Blue Mountains. The famous Jenolan Caves are also only 50km away and are a perfect destination for a day trip. For something different, why not ditch the car and opt for a ride on the Zigzag Railway or find the perfect walking or horse-riding track? You’ll experience what it might have been like for the early explorers seeing the area almost 200 years ago. The regional centre, Lithgow, is only 15km to the northwest and has plenty of shopping, cafes and attractions of its own. The whole region is a photographer’s paradise. The rugged mountain scenery and the magnificent vistas over valleys and forests are awe-inspiring – the ideal way to recharge your batteries.

Ready to explore? Book your Little Hartley hotel with us below! Experiencing this untouched beauty will make you feel as though you are discovering this stunning region for the very first time!
