"Good central overnight stay"
Very Good overnight stay with very comfortable beds and pillows , free Wifi worked great unlike other establishments who offer Wifi and nothing happens. Rooms were fairly small for 2 adults and 2 children, but over night was ok. This motel was close to town also close to the towns biggest attraction. The managers were very polite and helpful during our stay

Baths Motel - Moree Hotels

Baths Motel

339 Warialda Street, Moree - Map
"Good value"
Clean and tidy but small rooms. It had a queen bed, quite comfortable, also table and two chairs. Coffe and tea making facilities. Television set was small and no foxtel. but adequate as a stopover for us en route. Could do with upgrade but for the price it was good value. Ate at fish and chip cafe attached to the premises which was very popular and reasonably priced. Did have to take back to room to consume but crockery and cutlery were supplied in room.

    Pocket Guide: Moree

Moree is a little different to other inland towns. It has a reputation for water – artesian spas, to be exact. Visitors flock to Moree for these mineral-rich hot baths, which are said to relieve pain and reinvigorate the body. But there’s always more(e) to do in this town than sit back in 41-degree waters (though it’s very pleasant!). Book your Moree accommodation with us and you’ll also get to experience local art, dining out, lovely parks and other heritage-rich discoveries.

The main town of the Moree Plains Shire region, Moree is the traditional home of the Kamilaroi people. The first general store appeared on the township in 1852, followed by a post office the year after. In 1895 the town’s famous warm mineral waters were discovered by accident during a search for a reliable water supply. These days, the baths are one of Moree’s main attractions, drawing over 300,000 visitors a year. Visit the Moree Artesian Aquatic Complex to try out their therapeutic qualities for yourself. There’s even a waterslide and a hydro-play area in the complex for kids.

For some old-fashioned charm take a walk through Moree’s art-deco themed town centre. Heritage listed buildings inspired by styles from around the world have been converted into local shops selling clothing and homewares. You can even take a guided tour to find out more about the architecture’s history. Drop into the Moree Plains Gallery, the huge Edwardian-style building that’s one of Moree’s most historic. You can feast your eyes on a stunning collection of Aboriginal art with a focus on Kamilaroi culture. The Gallery hosts at least three touring exhibitions per year as well as film nights, piano recitals and workshops – so there’s always something to do! Moree sits on the banks of the Mehi River, and nearby parks such as Mary Brand Park are great places to take an afternoon walk or picnic with the family beneath the fig trees. If you feel like a meal on the town, Moree has a decent selection of restaurants from Chinese and seafood to fine dining.

Do you go nuts for nuts? Just 30kms from Moree is the Trawalla Nut Farm, a 700-hectare property. It’s the largest pecan nut plantation in the Southern Hemisphere and you can reach it by guided tour only. With taste-testing and pecan slice thrown into the tour, pecan lovers would be nutty to miss it.

Moree is about five and a half hours from Brisbane and seven and a half hours from Sydney, and sits at the intersection of the Newell and Gwydir Highways. If you don’t feel like driving, you can catch a train straight there from Sydney. Wot could be easier? Book your Moree hotel with us now for a rural destination that isn’t dry or dusty.
