I stayed at the Harrow Inn for 1 night on the way back to stay with my family for Xmas. The location was great, just a couple of miles off the main road in the Kent countryside, so nice and quiet. The check in was simple, receptionist friendly and welcoming and she explained everything in detail. The room would have scored higher if it had been modernised. The paintwork was fine (nice exposed brickwork, which i liked), but the curtains were coming off the rails and didn't shut properly. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul in my opinion. The cold tap dripped and i could not get it to stop dripping, the hot water was too hot so it was hard getting the right temperature. The bath and shower although clean, looked like they could have done with being replaced and the lino was a bit old and also needed replacing. Maybe it was just this room which was in need of updating. The bar was a typical English country pub, reasonable prices, nothing fancy, just good honest English fare.
If you're only staying 1 night, it is fine, but the place (the frontage and the room I was in let it down) just needs redecorating and modernising.
