It is in a perfect location and good value. Food shops and entertainment and York Park are minutes away. Fridge in all rooms allows for Supermarket shopping.

cold showers and bed bugs :(

Thank you for helping us into the building after hours. We'd travelled from Melbourne and in need of a good shower. Hot water lasted 2 minutes, so one child out of a family of five got to wash. The family hardly slept and one woke up with legs full of bites - bed bugs?! Location was the only good thing about this place.

Dear Anonymous, We are sorry that had such a terrible showering experience, We have since had our hot water system upgraded and now we have an endless supply of hot water for our guests. We most certainly do NOT have bed bugs, we have our rooms fumigated on a regular basis to prevent such instances. We would have appreciated it had you spoken to a member of staff about this matter so we could have investigated and ruled any such thing with you, to suggest that our hotel has bed bugs, is not only offensive but none other than defamation.

Pros: Read my experience.
Cons: Read my experience
Location: Read my experience
It wasn't made apparent before hand that the hotel has a nightclub! Reception staff are prepared to hand out ear plugs when you check in!!!! When I checked in hotel reception saw my room number and said "that's good your room isn't right over the club" - however she didn't mention that the window faced the alleyway where all the nightclub patrons queued, screamed, and yelled both entering and leaving the nightclub. The very limited hotel parking is also next to the nightclub entrance and one or more nightclub patrons very thoughtfully left empty bottles wedged under the tyres of my car. I must have missed the hotel disclaimer that I parked my car in the hotel guest parking at my own risk. The room itself was perfectly okay, tired but okay. the Rest of the hotel screamed "hostel" rather than hotel but it was cheap. Cheap only comparison to other nearby hotels - if prices were based on the number of hours one could comfortably SLEEP then the Batman Fawkner Inn would probably be amongst the most expensive hotels in Launceston.

A good hostel

Pros: Cleanliness. Location
Cons: Staff can be more flexible about in checking time. Better kitchen aminities and more chairs in the kitchen
Location: Near to Tamar river
Staff was not flexible. Just one oven for all guests.

Dear Mehry, We aim to be as flexible as possible with check in time however an earlier check in is dependent on your room being in order. This includes being thoroughly cleaned, and any maintenance issues that may have occurred overnight (without staff knowledge) being addressed. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, electric cook tops, etc. and most people comment on it positively. Should you have any specific recommendations we would be delighted to hear them. Unfortunately we can only accommodate one oven in order to meet regulations.

Little parking

OK for one night. Parking bad. Five or six car parking spaces (suitable for very small vehicle only). Our Holden Captiva hardly fitted. Also not being able to book in before 2.30 was a pain.

Dear Lionel, Thank you for your reservation and for taking the time to leave feedback. We are fortunate we can offer eleven spaces for our guests to park in for free, as most central Launceston accommodation can only recommend public parking. For those unable to access a free guest parking spot reception can assist them to find the most suitable alternative, with options including $6.00 per day parking, just two doors down. To clarify, check in is at 14:00 as per the reservation information however this is not strict, and those who arrive earlier may check in earlier should their room be available.

Our room was directly above a discotheque which was on full blast until midnight & we were told that it finished later than that on other days. This issue was not conveyed during booking.

Dear Guest, The fact there is a venue operating within the premises on some nights is well conveyed prior to guests confirming their reservation, included in both the terms and conditions and the important information. The nightclub is licensed until after midnight, however any live bands are billed to finish at midnight, which the venue has organised in consideration of our guests. The venue is open two or three nights a week, in a typical week, and we encourage anyone with questions or concerns regarding this to contact the hotel directly prior to making a reservation. Some rooms are available away from this venue.
