Very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Communicating in English was not a problem. The only feedback we had was to have thicker curtains that can block out the outside lights at night and perhaps a step for the toilet given it was quite steep for an older person.

If we could give better than excellent for the assistance from staff we would. The property met our needs well, however it was the above standard service from staff that sets this place apart. Japanese hospitality and service is well known, this was the best of the best. The location of the property on the upper end of Teramachi dori and then close to main street with good bus access was great. This was the third time I have been to Kyoto and this location the best we have had.

Free ice cream from next to the lobby was a fantastic innovation! The laundry facilities on Floor 2 got very busy at some points in the evening, making it hard to clean and dry clothes in a timely manner. Perhaps more machines would help.

Close to shopping, food places and prime sightseeing locations. All walkable distances. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Free water daily and toiletries.
