Hellish stay during the storm for 40€/night
Dangerously thin bamboo walls in my bungalow, with my luck the storm Pabuk hit the islands. I paid 40€ for each night and thought I'd get the concrete bungalow, but received bamboo wall- one in the dark backyard of the hotel/hostel area. 1. Walls are thin so you can hear everything from the outside and outsiders can hear you. I heard my neighbouring bungalow where couple had sex. I also heard party sounds from Slumber partyhostel close-by. I actually changed there later and slept like a baby because they have noise isolating walls unlike this place. 2. Holed in between front door so all the animals like gekkos, snakes and others might crawl in while you sleep. 3. No aircon, only some ceiling fan. 4. Toilet looks dirty, no water heater and shower head was leaking so pressure was too low to even shower properly with cold water. Water is also yellow which indicates old piping where hostel had clear water. 5. Holes in walls and in blankets, pillows were all yellow because of previous customers sweating (I guess) and mattress was uncomfortable. 6. Pool had some layer of oil on top of it, so I guess filters are only clearing the bigger dirt and not filtering the water itself. 7. Beach area looks nice and staff were somewhat helpful when they arranged ferries for other tourists leaving the island because of the storm. - Never again!

JUST OK
i stayed here for one night in a bungalow. the bungalow itself is ok. i mean you see ants and lizards in the bathroom but i would expect that. what i didn't like was the bed sheets were stained with oils or something. the hotel is locted on the beach and has it's own beach and bar which are nice but nothing fancy.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. It felt more like a resort. The pool was great - with an even better view of the sea. The food was good - a little expensive but the local area had food vendors that had meals for 50baht. Definitely a good place for the half or full moon parties. Would have rated higher if we had an ac room (cost more)

Average stay at the beach village
Place was OK. Confusion over a double booking when we arrived which was sorted thankfully although only due to us pressing how dissatisfied we were. Staff were on a whole, were good however did manage to get someone's food order wrong majority of the time. I understand English isn't the first language so not marking them down just overall wasn't the greatest service. Room was cleaned to high standard when we asked for cleaning rooms as a whole were a bit basic and had holes in bathroom ceiling. Pool never got cleaned while we were there so by end of our stay was disgusting. Filters had seemed to stop working as well. Hotel location was nice close to beach and shops and other bars. Chairs on the patio were broken and would have been nice to have a table other bungalows did just not ours.

Love is at the beach village
26 year old female traveller, I had read many things about women travelling in koh phangan and as one of life's worriers was concerned about the island. After getting to the beach village my fears were dissolved completely. The staff were kind and reassuring. The vibe of the community was friendly and everyone was happy to get to know each other. The wifi strength was great but could only be accessed in the restaurant or pool area. The rooms and pool generally need a good scrub/update but I couldn't have asked for more at such a great price. I will remember my time here fondly and if I return I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Bow made each day a party and was warm and knowledgable, passionate about the island and have us wonderful advice. Thank you all so very much.
