We arrived at the hotel and having been in Kalgoorlie before, the hotel was exactly what we expected. It is a magnificent building that has been well preserved. It would be a fantastic hotel for overseas visitors who would love the Wild West feel. The entrance with that mirror and the sweeping staircase is just so impressive. There are no lifts and many people wouldn’t be able to manage the stairs though. The rooms are basic but clean. Staff were great too. The dining area is also very historic. My only negatives are that the bar and Restaurant don’t operate on a Sunday? Also no staff after hours. We had breakfast on Sunday and when we returned after a walk around town, there were no staff at all. Monday morning we had to catch the 7am train back to Perth and no one on reception. I loved the history of this old dame but wouldn’t stay again. Overseas visitors must experience this gorgeous historical pub which has many tales to tell. Also Tv reception was terrible. Only Ch 9? Not sure if this is all over Kalgoorlie though? Overall, liked it but has some negatives which would irk a few!
