The rooms are large enough but the bathroom needs renovations. It looks old and tired. We were on the first floor and near the next door pub. It was very loud at 3am so some sound proofing wouldn’t go astray.

Dear Traveler, It is disappointing to hear that your stay at Quest Waterfront was not a pleasant one and that your sleep was disturbed by the outside noise. We continue to work with the relevant departments, but it is a slow process. If you would also like to voice your opinion regarding the noise from the nightclubs directly, please send an email to the Hobart City Council as well as the Tasmanian Licencing Commission. Clean and basic. On arrival we found that the parking facility was so tight that on the street parking at night was the only sensible way to go. The receptionist did not know or forgot to inform us that the car could not be accessed next day due to work being carried out on the street. Fortunately there was a note in the room to this effect and we extracted the vehicle and parked it on the street. If you want a an ordinary reasonably priced room with no additional services or quality this might suit.

As you are aware there a section of the 5th floor is currently undergoing renovations and remodeling. We have one small tight lift unsuitable for transporting goods of this nature up through the hotel. The safest way for this work to be carried out was to involve a crane. Staff and management did communicate the crane lift to all guests via a letter in their rooms staff and management decided this would be the most reasonable way to communicate this critical information to all 34 occupied rooms on short notice. The Crane lift had been delayed due to high winds and rescheduled pending the weather forecast, Staff and management only received conformation of the crane lift proceeding the evening before. The renovations do comply the the Hobart City Council's Environmental Management and Pollution Control (Noise) Regulations 2016 act. We have asked the building team to delay their starts until a more reasonable hour, by law they are allowed to start as early as 7am in this area. Proximity to Salamanca is very handy. Bathroom was large. Bed comfortable. Vibrations from pub noise on a Saturday night could be disturbing to a light sleeper
