Lack of communication from owner about how to access the cottage was disappointing. Having finally made contact in the early evening, was taken aback at the complete lack of any apology for being unable to access the accommodation despite arriving into Richmond at 4pm. Given the price paid for the cottage I'd expect far better.

Great position

Pros: The charm and comprehensive facilities
Location: Perfect location to the village amenities and very close to Richmond Bridge. A good central location to explore the surrounding areas.
We loved our stay at Bridge Cottages in Richmond. I was a bit nervous about staying there after reading some negative reviews but I couldn’t find anything to complain about. The cottage has the charm of an historical building but with contemporary conveniences. It is in a perfect position within walking distance to everything. It’s cozy and warm and everything we needed was available.

Good location - nice and central to main street

Pros: As mentioned above the accomodation facilities were quite comfortable.
Cons: For elderly clients a rubber mat on the floor of the bath might reduce the risk of slipping on the enamel floor of the bath.
Location: We were able to access the unique retail shops along the main street strip but we were staying only one night so opportunities were limited to do any
Generally living and sleeping facilities were comfortable but bathroom a little cramped. Shower over bath needs some device to prevent slipping while having a shower. The facility of an open fire was very attractive on a chilly evening and the availability of a glass of port at the end of the meal was a nice touch. Basic kitchen facilities for a meal were quite satisfactory. The accomodation fee, given the facilities, we felt was rather at the high end of the range.

Pleasant comfortable unit in olden day era setting

Centrally located in Richmond, close to all the local attractions, away from the hustle and bustle of Hobart city centre, but still within an easy driving distance. Very quiet setting, with comfortable furnishings from the olden day era.

a major disappointment

Pros: the images online were attractive WITH the powered cottage lights on - a MUST as Armoury Cottage is very dark inside in the daytime
Cons: money spent on skylights in the kitchen/lounge of Armoury Cottage. Fresh air to go into the bedroom too, though it is an internal room with skylight.
Location: The location is fabulous - right on the main street near the famous bridge, with many quaint shops and historic buildings -including the Richmond Gaol
I was sorry to find a dark, very smoky smelling cottage with an internal bedroom and cobwebs. The smoky smell didn't dissipate much with the doors open for 3/4 hour to blow the smell away (which was not a good thing for my asthma). The owner, when informed of the smoke and cobwebs, did offer to get someone to come and clean the cobwebs and did offer me the cottage that was available next door (this was nicer but I was so disappointed with my original cottage that I declined that too). I will not book here again.

Central with an attempt at colonial living

Unfortunately arrived on a hot afternoon/evening- no fly screens on doors or windows. Either swelter inside or get eaten by mozzies - very unpleasant! Gloomy, dusty and outdoor seating area near rubbish bins. Otherwise ok
