Toilet would not flush properly. Maintenance attempted but failed to fix it. Have been offered an upgrade next time we stay. For $NZ800 per night we won't be coming back.

Couldn't be more central

Pros: Everything
Cons: A kettle in the room for the times I'd have liked to make a coffee.
Location: The Strand is the backbone of London and is close to everything. It is especially close to theatres and the National Gallery.
I was very lucky to be upgraded from the courtyard room I had booked to a junior suite overlooking the Thames. It was very comfortable and well furnished, even had a guest bathroom for my visitors. The staff were always helpful and the butler called in regularly to see if there was anything he could do (unfortunately there wasn't). The view was marvelous and there were an array of books as well as 2 TVs. The toiletries were of excellent quality. I dined in both restaurants and the food and service was excellent. The American bar was crowded and noisy and I wished I had discovered the less famous but more opulent Beaufort bar sooner. My only suggestion is that tea an coffee making facilities would have been good to have.
