Overall everything was good for a one night stay while traveling. Refurbished older hotel. Low ceilings, tiny bathroom. Breakfast was good. Staff was excellent.

I specifically called to confirm they were On the TransCanada Highway, the guest service person barely must have listened to my question, she giggled and said "We are right On the highway".... not the highway I was asking. They are very far away from the main areas of town with restaurants and other services. Quite remote. When I spoke to complain to the sales manager he said his staff needs to clarify to guests that they are away from the main area right close to the airport, a bit remote. Two area doors to our room stairs were closed/blocked off, it was 11pm at night we couldn't understand where we could park and go in... leaving us to go around and around the building looking for an open entrance! The hotel is old and run down, with subprime upgrades. The value for the quality of this hotel is POOR. Not worth the money spent. Our room had a foul smell not sure if it was cleaning agents or pets or just old and tired. bathroom was tiny, with large tub that had dirty caulking around the tub, and tub did not drain well as well had damage that had been painted over. I mentioned all this to the sales manager who said he would call me back Once he addressed it as the room had been fully renovated. He didn't call me back so I called back twice and finally he answered. He brushed off the smell saying that his cleaning head person went there and there isn't any smell. This a blatant lie. He was unhelpful and didn't care. I was bushed off!

We stayed in a pet room. It was clean. The air from the ac unit smelled awful, like urine. The screen door was broken so we couldn’t leave the patio door open. The breakfast was made to order and very good!

This property is outside of the city and thats the best part. It's under construction according to the sign in the lobby and another sign states no aggressive behavior will be tolerated. Made me think the staff might be aggressive as well. This is a best western, same towles and sheets as the others I've stayed in across the country, but double the price. This is also the first hotel I've stayed at with no microwave, i didn't know i had to check the description for that but i do now.
