Walking distance to the heart of Florence

Pros: Very comfortable.
Cons: Staff could be better briefed on services and facilities.
Location: Great local Trattoria and tourist 3-course meals, short walk from the station (but watch the cobble stones!) and to river, short walk to city center
One of the most expensive hotels we stayed at during our honeymoon, we enjoyed the 4-star comfort. Some of the facilities and services such as the gym and the in-room kettle & tea options flummoxed the staff slightly; the gym is an affiliated facility a couple of blocks away and the teabags were quickly exhausted and confusing to get more of. The breakfast buffet was okay, but do ask for a cappucino. The "chinese breakfast" instant noodles corner was amusing. The attached Opera restaurant was quite good (and quite classy), but local restaurants offer better value.
