Meet Hobart, the largest city on the largest island of the island continent of Australia. Needless to say, this city’s a pretty big deal.
Tasmania’s capital has plenty to offer you on getaways of all kinds. Enjoy mountaineering on nearby Mt. Wellington. Stroll leisurely along the waterfront of the River Derwent where it meets the Tasman Sea. Sample the brews pouring in the city’s many pubs, or shop at the markets for fresh local produce. Or check out the historical buildings that come from being the second-oldest city in Australia.
Whatever you choose to do (and why not do it all?), you’ll need to put on your adventure face when you board our flights to Hobart!
Getting Around Hobart
The easiest way to get from Hobart International Airport (HBA) is the Redline bus. Hobart has a pretty extensive bus service, actually. It’s also a very walkable and bikeable city. Or course, taxis and Wotif’s car hire options are great choices, too.
When You Land…
Are you on Hobart flights that land in the morning? Then head to Battery Point to see the golden sandstone buildings glow in the early sunshine. And if it’s a Saturday (you lucky dog, you) check out the famous Salamanca Market, too.
If you land in the afternoon, take a stroll among the greenery in The Domain and listen to the parrots in the trees.
Touching down in the evening? Head to a pub and try some local brews. Wake up those taste buds before nodding off in one of our Hobart hotels.
Live Like a Local
