Due to our own fault we chose a room without a window we were told we would have to pay an extra £17 per night to upgrade to a window !! , it was extremely hot we had to sleep with fan on all night which was very noisy . Our biggest disappointment was customer service , we arrived to an empty reception when a young lady arrived with a drink and crisps in her hand not a word of apology for keeping us waiting or a welcome was offered , where as we do not begrudge anyone a break , having returned and seen guests waiting acknowledgment should have been forth coming . We continued to find that even when we walked in and out of hotel no members of staff acknowledged our presence at all which left us confused and quite annoyed !! On day three there was a young lady a gentlemen in a suit and another reception Staff member on the desk , she alone greeted us as we left hotel with a good morning and we explained that she was the 1st member of staff to do so , this was not even acknowledged by the others behind desk which we found very strange . As you may gather customer service is something we hold as a essential ,a must , when staying in any hotel ....The Cavendish lacked this . The staff seemed to lack any enthusiasm which was sad . No we will not be staying at the cavendish again !!!
