I booked a trip to Villa del Palmar hotel via Expedia last November for my birthday, and the trip was paid in full. When I arrived at check- in, I was told that it's hotel policy to have a card on file because it's a cash free ressort( I was fine with that). Then I was told that there would be a temporary charge of $665 security deposit which will be removed as soon as I checkout. I gave them my card since it was hotel policy not knowing that I would be having a headache going back and forth with these people.
1) First, it was an all inclusive hotel, paid in full but they charged me for all of my meals and everything else.
2) Second, which is my biggest problem is that they refused to remove the "temporary security deposit" charge from my card. I called the front desk and they confirm that the charge would be removed within 7 to 10 business days and the room was left in good condition. There was a lot of back and forth and they eventually blamed my credit card company for not removing the charge. I call my credit card company and they said the merchant did not drop the charge and it needs to be paid. Charge is freaking PERMANENT NOW!!!
Today is February 21, 2020 and I'm still fighting with them about that security deposit that they told me was a temporary charge in the first place.
I tried to call them but nothing gets resolved. Now I'm disputing the charges with my credit card company, because I did not purchase anything for $665 at the hotel, they charged me as soon a
