Thank you for your FALSE review, Anthony and Caroline O'Cloudy from Thursday Island. You booked a room for 2 people and because you were caught out with 4 people you have written a false review suggesting our great staff are rude. Next time we suggest you book a room for 4 people and stop ripping off the tourism industry.

As an older property it was very spacious inside and all things needed for a stay were provided; not flash but well presented. Easy walk to shops, the esplanade and the market. Will stay again if I need another overnighter in Cairns. Comfy bed, helpful staff, and great price. Only issue was early check-in - by 4:30pm and no on-site parking.

Very noisy in the morning. Not an issue if you leave before 0800ish however.

My visit to A1 was a pleasant surprise, when I first arrived, I was not sure, but I quickly found myself seeing so much potential in the property. The apartment was clean, well organised, but as you stay longer you notice it is just in need of a freshen up. The kitchenette was basic but very user friendly, fans in each room were refreshing, but like most Cairns locations there is not heating provided to the rooms, so if you sleep cold be sure to rug up. Backpackers behind were a little noisy in the early hours of Sunday morning, but besides that the overall location was lovely. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

What i didnt like someone had tied a plastic bag over the smoke alarm in the bedroom. I reported this to a staff member. The motel room was clean and close to the city centre walking distance.
