    I wouldn't hurry back

Service was slow - often nobody around, even at peak times. Room 2 (my assigned room) Room was shabby, door handle fell off the door to the tea making facilities. Cold water ran hot for a good minute - terrible waste of water! Shower shampoo bottle fell off the wall. Neighbours in room 3 came “home” at some ungodly hour (like 3.30am) and ran water for washing plus shower and then one hour later another shower. The noise of the water running was verging on unbearable. Not your fault that a guest has such nocturnal habits but the noise of water running was not good. Breakfast croissant was dry and at least one day old. Overall stay was not what I would have expected from a Greene King Inn.Wrote all of the above to the manager 2 weeks ago and still no reply! Just about sums the place up.

Food not great, little sympathy off staff!

Stopped off impromptu for a business trip. Paid £102 B&B. Evening meal said on menu Chips were triple cooked. They were not as they were frozen chips and soggy. I asked if they did 'proper' chips and they didn't. Its not possible to triple cook frozen chips without making them like dry sticks so I wasn't happy. Bellu pork was edible, but the half-baked apple was off and didn't taste at all like an apple. Maybe it was a display one and plastic!?Waitress a bit light on her feet and offered no sympathy. Continental breakfast - croissants were stale, and crumpets were dry. I optef for a 'safe' bacon sandwich on brown bread. That was edible. Coffee choices was a rip-open 'bedroom-style' sachet of Nescafe, not the usual coffee machine or filter coffee as we've all come to expect as a bare minimum at an establishment like this. Room TV remote control in room 9 (top of house) was faulty. Tried changing batterys but it was the buttons. Had to use mass-force on buttons to do anything at all with the TV! Overall, not a great stay for £102.00 i'd say. I wish i'd picked the Travel inn or Premier inn.
