I liked that the place is obviously well maintained. However 20 plus year old air conditioners in a room that cost $304 a night is unacceptable, especially when said air conditioner make a huge noise when turned on and forces the guest (me) to move rooms to the other side of the complex. Imagine this; you're tired from a long drive, you want to get to your room and have a quick sleep to make up for the 4am start. So you quickly unpack EVERYTHING from the car. Clothes and toiletries, put away, shirts and suit hung in the wardrobe, now time to hit the bed for a couple of hours of shut eye before a 6pm event time. Turns 20 plus year old air conditioner on to find that it's making a hue clanking sound. The imagine having to call reception to get maintenance to check out this 20 plus year old air conditioner, only to be told it's irreparable and I'll have to be moved to another room....on the other side of the complex, which means packing up everything AGAIN, loading it into the car, driving to the other side of the complex and unloading it all again. No apology from Abbey Beach, but the maintenance man did say sorry for the hassle of having to move. So I missed out on my sleep, and left the evenings event early because I was knackered. That was my experience staying at Abbey Beach Resort. $304/night.

The resort is looking tired and a bit shabby. Even though we were told it was fully booked it seemed deserted most of the time. After our first night our room did not get serviced until mid/late afternoon, we had to request extra towels so we could shower for a late afternoon excursion. We requested a late checkout the following day and were again told you were fully booked and we could only get 10.30 (I wonder what time the room was serviced after we left?) The room was disappointing for the price, with little information available, no mini bar and not even a safe in the room! The noises from adjacent rooms was surprisingly loud, we could hear people using the toilets during the nights! (not just flushing!!!) It was disappointing that, given there are 3 pools, there wasn't an "adults only" pool to escape from screaming and splashing kids. Overall very average and more in line with a budget motel experience than a mid range resort. Will not be returning or recommending.

Nice space and good amenities. Two bedroom apartment spacious and although décor a bit dated. 24 hr reception is a good touch. 2 major concerns had a breakfast at Reflections food was awesome but it took over 90 minutes to get to the table, but after a conversation with the front desk it ended up being dealt with very professionally. (Indeed went for a dinner there later and again food excellent and this time fast). The other issue was big function at the Atrium which we did now about and were not made aware of at booking or check in. Overall though a pleasant stay.
