Quick city break for country folk

2 nights close to the shopping hub and transport. A swim at southbank only a 15 minute walk away. Buffet breakfast great. We had a lovely mini break. This is our 5th time at the urban and we will be sure to return .

A nice hotel on top of a steep hill

We found the stay very pleasing. We did have issues with our swipe key to our room and had to have them replaced each day. The staff were very friendly and the meals we had in the bistro were amazing! The curtains could do with a fix up in the rooms. The hotel is situated on a very steep hill if you were to walk to the city. The car park was not the best. It was very hard to park the car due to all the bollards.

nice hotel close to cbd

Pros: Good bar area with street dining and lounges to chill
Cons: as we stayed for 4 nights and needed to do laundry. some small clothes airers would be handy as the dryers wil shrink some clothes
Location: A short walk through the park and you are in the cbd
Location was handy as it was quiet and only a short walk to cbd Parking was a lot cheaper than cbd and the car park wasn't as bad as they say and I have a 4wd . You should try parking in high rise resorts on gold coast I spent a lot of time downstairs as it was a pleasant area to chill out

Convenient hotel providing great value

Pros: Location, price, presentation of public areas, quiet
Cons: Wifi coverage, presentation of stairwell to car park.
Location: Walking distance to CBD and Southbank and all of its activities
Urban Brisbane is a nice refurb of a 50 year old hotel in a nice location opposite Roma Street Parklands. Spent six days there in the first week of January. Rates were exceptionally cheap at this time of year - less than a backpackers on a per head basis! Hotel was unable to provide us with connecting rooms, but came up with an alternative solution that was more than adequate. Lobby and restaurant was elegant and modern. Staff were instantly responsive to requests. Rooms are nicely appointed but wifi is patchy. One advantage of an older hotel is that windows can open, or in our case, glass doors opened on to a balcony. Pool requires close supervision of children as it is very deep. Car park, however, really is the worst in Australia as hotel management freely admit, so beware!

Wi-Fi didn't work in the room, 5 days.

Pros: Near to Roma Street.
Cons: WiFi. Availability of WiFi. Speed of WiFi, if available.
Given the password and found the WiFi SSID in the room. Couldn't log in, telling wrong password. Told the staff twice in first 2 days. Still no WiFi when I leave the hotel after 4 nights. Used it in the lobby, slow download.

Convenient location, nice views

Pros: Room Comfort, All room facilities functioned well
Cons: Bring back the "Room Compendium" from yesteryear. My room had i think 6-7 items of printed cardboard located all over the room. Annoying
Location: The leafy end of Wickham Terrace with views to the mountains. The free Spring Hill bus loop (operates mon-fri) is a great bonus.
The good points - comfy beds, great rates, good housekeeping, pool is located on eastern shady side which was great for a hot summer afternoon. Decor is sharp and eye catching - its all a bit Hipster which is not my scene but hey thats the market these days. A couple of minus points - my room was showing signs of wear with a very obvious torn curtain and bedside lampshades that were on their last legs. I acknowledge that i paid a very low last minute rate so did not expect the best room in the house. The minibar and room service dining rates were on the high side more like one would expect in The Hilton in Queen Street Mall.
