"Spacious, clean, modern, well equipped apartment"
This was a repeat booking for us. Excellent accommodation close to the CBD. Large lounge, fully equipped kitchen and two spacious bedrooms make this ideal for family use. Potential guests should be aware that there is a steep hill up to the apartments from the city centre, which while not a problem for us as a young family, could be difficult for the elderly or infirm.

"Great hotel always a pleasure staying there"
I love staying at The Gambaro hotel. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Brisbane. You can always be sure that the service is going to be great and your room will be clean. The staff are always welcoming and will go the extra mile to make your stay excellent. I dont have any complaints at all, everything is always perfect.

While the room was perfect for our needs, the unit we were in was much more rundown than another I had stayed in previously. Still a fabulous price for an inner city stay, but obviously some units are a better bargain than others.

"Good Value"
Good central location, older property but rooms were well maintained and cleaned Special mention to Jess on reception, she was great and could not do enough to assist us on check in. I would be happy to poach Jess at any time if she was interested in working at an island resort.

"Great location & nice room "
I stayed at Next Hotel Brisbane because of the location mainly due to a knee injury. I found it to be very convenient & within easy walking distance of shops restaurants casino etc & also friendly staff. Even as you arrive there are staff to open the car door for you & collect your luggage. The 4 mini bar items free is also an added bonus & I found my bed & the facilities in my room to be very good. My daughter & I had breakfast in the restaurant & also found the food to be of high quality. Great all round really.

Hotels In Brisbane Central Business District

This river city is often referred to as "one big country town" because it has the charm and community spirit of a rural town, with all the mod cons to make your stay there fun and enjoyable. Stay in one of our Brisbane CBD hotels, where you can unwind and soak up the atmosphere of the Sunshine State.

    Things to Do

Get a feel for the city by taking a cruise along the river on a free CityHopper ferry, hopping off at the various stops on both sides of the river. Make sure that you stop off at Southbank, the recreation mecca of the CBD. Here, you can laze about on the grassy slopes with a picnic lunch, sit down at one of the many cafes or restaurants, or have a splash in the salty waters of man-made Streets Beach. Take a walk under the nearby decorative arches of The Arbour and you'll soon come to the Nepalese Peace Pagoda, known for its intricate design.

If you aren't afraid of heights, you can take to the Brisbane skies in a hot air balloon or climb the Story Bridge for a fantastic view. Another great way to see the city, with a bird's eye view, is to hop on the Wheel of Brisbane. It's like a giant Ferris wheel, only much safer – and less daunting - because the observation cabins are completely enclosed and air-conditioned.

    Art and Culture

Those fascinated by art, culture and history will love visiting the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre. The Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art are right next door and, if you feel like spending an evening at the theatre, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre is just across the road.

From the Cultural Centre, you can walk or drive across the Victoria Bridge and hit the shops at Queen Street Mall, Brisbane's – and, arguably, Queensland's – most popular shopping precinct. Make sure you bring your credit card because you're bound to fall in love with many of the items on offer here. In the mall you'll find boutique fashion stores, alongside alternative record shops and big name department stores, and you'll be entertained by plenty of buskers.

    Getting Here and Around

Getting around the CBD is really easy. All you have to do is purchase a go card (the local public transportation card) and then you can jump aboard buses, trains and ferries to get to just about any destination in the city. If you're itching to hit the beach, take the two hour train journey north to the Sunshine Coast or the 90 minute trip south to the Gold Coast, where you'll get a decent dose of surf, sun and sand.
