Great restaurant and lounge area to have pre dinner drinks etc. Our particular room was a morton king wing room, number 219. The room was small, floor sloping which meant the bed also sloped and it was very uneven in patches, did not have a second bedside table or office table lamp for working , bathroom was small and there was no space to have your toiletry bag or a shower shelf for shampoos etc, and the only view we had was of the colorbond roof !

It is just a beautiful hotel within the nature and surrounds and provides a building that really is both beautiful and in keeping with the heritage of the area

The restaurant staff and food were excellent. However, the property is old and in disrepair. I was in the balcony wing on the ground floor. The walls are paper thin with tv noise and voices coming through the walls. Lots of thumping footsteps coming from above. Definitely not a $435 room. More like a $95 room. Gravel car park with lots of dust. Will NOT return. I have stayed at Gibraltar in the past which is a much better option.

The rooms and bathrooms are small and very basic considering this is a 4 star property.

Room was way too small. There was barely a gap between the bed and the wall, and there were no draws to store clothes etc

Magnificent gardens, areas to walk and verandah to sit and relax. Rooms clean, nice decor and feel newly renovated. Staff were overall friendly but the restaurant is lacking in ambience in the evenings so I ordered from the casual area (ie dine in the Lounge area) and the food was fantastic - had the prawn tagliatelle and a great dessert. The High Tea was fantastic one day but very ordinary the next but still worth having as it was wonderful to sit on the verandah and enjoy the High Tea overlooking the wonderful gardens. It was disappointing to have a golf club style bar area taking over the nice Lounge area but once I was used to this change of scenery and approach, it was ok. The bar lighting should be dimmed at night so not to cheapen the atmosphere of the main restaurant as it is built inside the restaurant - it needs some stylish decor in its design. It was disappointing that many of the sitting areas are now closed to guests and only available if a function is booked. So there is now very limited seating areas and often staff were conducting meetings (even recruitment discussions) in guest areas. This should not be done as it ruined the relaxing atmosphere and as a guest, I felt like I was not considered. Staff meetings should be held in staff offices, not in guest areas. I have a holiday break to relax from work. I don’t wish to hear loud discussions about the manager’s opinion about staff and what they look for in a person. I had to leave the area!
