Bear Haven cabin was clean and comfortable for our holiday weekend stay in the mountains. We enjoyed the fact we could bring our dog with us. We took morning walks through the neighborhood and used the Mill Ridge trail that is connected to the neighborhood. The cabin had all of the essentials so we were able to grill dinner one night during our stay. We’d absolutely stay there again in the future.

Grandfather Mountain Weekend Trip_Alice

The inside of the house was great. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very roomy and clean. There were sufficient supplies throughout the house and our stay was very pleasant. We got there very late at night and had a lot of trouble finding the house. There is not good parking and it was very hard to find. Great for privacy though. It was rainy and dark and we had to use our phones to find the address and house. Recommend replacing old numbers with brighter and reflective numbers. The deck was really slick from the rain so be careful. You have to walk up an incline and a few steps to get to the house so do not recommend for wheelchairs or those with mobility problems. Overall, a really nice place to stay!!!

Perfect for a Sugar Mountain trip

The place was perfect for our ski trip to the mountains, only a short 12 minute drive to the Sugar Mtn Resort. The fireplace kept the house warm while we were there. Bring your own fire starters but plenty of wood outside. Beds were comfortable with two rooms. Hot water and pressure flowed well. It has a true cabin feel and pet friendly. If you plan to do laundry then bring your own detergent.

Older closed ski resort neighborhood

Christmas vacation. Neighborhood well cared for, older homes. Quiet & safe. Fantastic location! Between Boone and Banner Elk - grocery stores, fast food in both. 4 miles from Grandfather Mountain profile trials parking lot. Shower water pressure excellent, hot water plenty! We were told twice it was a propane fireplace -it was wood burning, small flu difficult to get and keep a fire going. A few things could’ve have been given more attention by cleaning crew. Overall we had a nice stay. Dogs allowed and it is a dog friendly neighborhood. The trail there is very nice.
