Good but not 5 stars

Pros - Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Stayed two nights in a Harbour View Plus room and the views are very good and about the best you can get in Auckland. Breakfast and Fish Restaurant both excellent. Cons - no free wifi in the room - not really acceptable in this day and age. Valet parking for two nights was almost NZ$100! Room/bathroom very comfortable but looking a little dated unlike the lobby and hallways. Overall a solid 4-star experience but definitely not 5. A little money spent on room refurbs, addressing the wifi issue and modernising here and there could turn it to a 5 again.

Luxurious hotel

Enjoyed our time, a little taste of the "rich life" i felt like royalty! Although room with a view was a bit out of our price range and we settled for the cheapest room it was lovely. The staff were friendly too! Great room overall

Pros: I liked the views from this hotel, the great service and their thoughtfulness.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The hotel is in a great location, right on the Viaduct and near to lots of good restaurants, cafes and shopping.
We had a lovely one night stay and were lucky enough to be upgraded from a King Harbour View room to a Bow Suite. The view from this suite was incredible, it looked out over the whole of the Auckland Harbour. The room was big with a beautiful bathroom and a huge deck. The breakfast the next morning was very good.

One night quick stay

Pros: Location, room size and Peter Roff toiletries!
Cons: More tables at breakfast, we had to que and wait to be seated!
Location: Ferry terminal, shops, bars, restaurants, Britomart - train station.
In Auckland for Waiheke Wine & Food Festival so it was just a quick stop off and a brilliant location to catch the ferry from. Central to everything; shopping, bars & restaurants and again ferry terminal! Excellent brekkie looking out over the harbour with all food options covered and some, definitely recommend.

beautiful harbourfront hotel

It was my birthday and I was upgraded to a Harbourview room - really beautiful views. The room was lovely modern and well appointed ! The staff were all fantastic and the breakfast - while expensive was delicious and bountiful and again the views from the restaurant were breathtaking... I hope to come back !

Beware of cruise ships alongside

Pros: Location
Cons: Advice about cruise ship berthing.
Location: See above
I booked this hotel through an on line booking site. On arrival at about 5pm we received a note to say that a large cruise liner was berthing directly opposite all harbour view rooms and would be there for approx. 24 hours. Needless to say, having paid top $ for said harbour views we were very unimpressed. We were actually advised to keep our drapes drawn such was the incursion into our privacy. The ship (and its thousands of passengers were no more than 20 - 30 metres away and directly opposite. I complained to hotel management who advised that since I had booked through an on line booking site Hilton did not have my contact details and could not forward me. Had they done so I would have cancelled. Nevertheless hotel management handled the matter well. They provided a significant discount to the room rate and drinks vouchers. Although very annoyed at the severe inconvenience I must say Hilton handled the situation as well as could be expected. If booking this hotel make sure you ask about the cruise ship berthing schedule!

Central Auckland location with stunning view

Pros: Location, facilities
Location: It is close to the city center, ferry terminal and dining precinct.
We booked a long weekend for the first week in January 2017. The facilities at the Hilton were spectacular and the location with its view over the harbor has got to be seen to be believed. The photos do not do it justice.

All about the location

Pros: Good renovation. Entrance door staff always happy and helpful.
Fish restaurant was disappointing, the manager seemed disinterested that the lamb was inedible and offered no compensation, added to which the food took almost 90 minutes to come out of the kitchen.
