Bad bed

We had a bed thet was two singles together, one of which had broken feet x 3 and was supported by a wooden tea caddy box....after a very uncomfortable night we asked twice for a repair or exchange which didnt happen. They did give us complimentary parking but we felt that this was not enough.

This was expensive it was dirty and noisy

Pros: location is quite good but construction everywhere
Cons: upgrade furniture, paint, things that work
Location: OK but noisy I came for business
This apt was expensive and it was shabby with old stained couch and things kept breaking. I lost food as on day 2 I realised the fridge was not working and so bad they had to replace it. I asked for cleaning to find it is only every second day unless you ask specificially. The TV monitor was broken and so I had to get someone in to switch it on with a switch you couldnt even see. The knobs on the cook top broke off. It seemed that everything was broken or braking and it was dirty. There is a huge aircon on the roof of the building next door so it is so noisy Staff were young and helpfl but what they are working with is old and crappy. I wouldnt go back there nor to central Auckland. There is construciton everwhere and it si very noisy and unwelcoming for tourists.

It was centrally located and did the job. That was good enough given the last minute time I had to book a room.

Ok if last minute and desperate

Due to last minute booking and Auckland hotels having high occupancy and charging a ridiculous rate I had no choice but to look for a self rated property. The rooms were standard and very basic. Bedside lights didnt work. It was just to sleep for 1 night so better than a hostel.

very disappointed

Pros: nothing
Cons: new couch bathroom needs renovation windows need re fitting as one wouldn't even close bathroom needed renovating
this is the first time i have written a review that is only negative in origin. I guess I could say it was close to where we wanted to be. We booked an apartment for 4 people thinking that there would be a double bed in one and two (twin beds) in another room. the photos and wording as seen on line seem to indicate that that is what we had booked. The double bed only just fitted in the room and was pushed up against the wall. the twin bed was one single bed only, in a small room. They said we could use the couch as a bed. this was totally inadequate and anyone sleeping on it would have had serious back problems the next day. The window in the bedroom had a notice saying you could not close the window please do not try and the bathroom had missing and damaged tiles. we refused to stay here and because it was booked through Wotif they would not refund our money. I called the wotif number and they called Bianca who said the manager would get back to us Monday. This did not happen. not only out of pocket but also wondered if booking using other sources was a wise idea. Very disappointed .

Terrible Place to Stay!

Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Everything. Customer service is terrible. You shouldn't have to check if your room comes with curtains!
We are frequent travelers and this is without doubt the worst paid accommodation we have ever stayed in! Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish! The receptionist was extremely rude & abrupt. Despite having paid for the room prior to arrival we were charged a $250 bond to our credit card. This was not explained to us when we booked and despite the receptionists claims that this is their policy and stated on our booking paperwork it is NOT stated anywhere on the paperwork. We were then told at checkout that it will take 3-5 business days to be reinstated on our card! The location is down a shady dingy side street which is poorly lit and at night as a female I would not feel safe entering / exiting the building. Im sure which room the photos were taken from (listed on the booking site) but I can tell you that the room looks absolutely nothing like the actual room! The building is occupied with permanent residents so we could smell strong odours of food cooking and noise throughout the hallways. Our room had NO CURTAINS so the light poured in first thing in the morning. There is major construction going around the entire building with the noise of power drills and workers commencing at 7:00am! No air-conditioning so the room was like a sauna. Although the linen was clean the bed was like sleeping on a slab of concrete. As you can imagine our sleep was non existent. We would never stay here again and have warned family and friends to avoid the place.

We really appreciate our guests taking the time to provide us with feedback as it allows us to see areas where we can improve our customer service. I am sorry you had this bad experience and I wish my response could be more sympathetic. We do require a credit card or bond at check-in it's part of our terms and conditions and this is the standard practice of hotels, rental car companies and many other related services throughout most of the world. Without a credit card you would find it generally difficult to travel, stay in hotels and rent cars and I am sorry you have endured this poor experience, there might be some suppliers particularly in non-urban areas where a credit card, bond or pre authorisation is not required but the requirements are stock standard. Further to your comments about cook food smell, we are serviced apartments and yes people do cook and it leaves cooking smell for couple of hours. We only have air con in superior apartments. We apologies for the noise coming from outside. Unfortunately we don't have control over the noise coming from the streets. Regardless, I apologize that your overall experience was not good and hope that you will see this as a one off. Hope we will be given a chance to make it right during your next visit. Kind Regards

I didn't stay here the room was disgusting. Filthy

Location: Not much, a few dodgy characters around that area of Auckland, but i was aware of that.
My experience was extremely bad. I did not stay. The reception staff were rude and treated me like an idiot. I was in Auckland on business and as i did not take my handbag i had no photo id with me. The manager treated me like a criminal, he put a $250 imprint on my credit card...what for there is no minibar or restaurant at this place. The room was not made up. It was filthy, broken light, phone not connected. the bed had stains on it and was up against the wall. My company has paid for this accommodation which i did not use, I want a refund. I have tried to contact Wotif to talk to a person to explain my experience. Photos attached will show you how disgusting this room was. Bianco off Queen and Wotif are misrepresenting this hotel, and misleading the public . The photos on the website do not in any way represent the room that was allocated to me. I am putting formal complaint in to the Hotel Association and also to the Consumer rights of New Zealand. My itinerary stated that i had booked a Superior room with a king size bed. The beds were single beds put up against the wall. Someone needs to ring me to sort my refund urgently !!!
