The staff was very friendly and helpful, they all spoke english which I appreciate very much, thank you! The complimentary breakfast was delicious! I had the fried eggs with sausage, bacon and a salad, my daughter had the french toast with banana and honey. The problem I had at the hotel is the room we checked into (Varnalis) had what I am assuming are bed bugs (I looked it up). I saw bugs on my scarf, crawling around on the bed, bathroom, on the floor and wall. I complained to the staff and they moved us to another room which was smaller, then while we were out all day we came back and found that they moved us again to a smaller room with just a queen bed and a rollaway bed, mind you I paid for a room for 3 adults which had a queen bed and a full size bed. I wasn’t happy at all that my mom ended up having to sleep in a rollaway bed. Besides that, the restroom had a bad odor and the water in the shower didn’t drain properly. They did say we could have our room back after they sprayed for bugs but we weren’t willing to take a chance of ending up with bed bugs in our clothing or luggage. The friendly staff, delicious complimentary breakfast, the great location within close walking distance to the Acropolis and museum, shops, and restaurants, and the overall aesthetic of the hotel was very pleasing. Other than the problems with bugs in our room and moved to a small room with a rollaway bed, I would give this location 5 stars. If I went back to Athens I would stay here again.
