Disappointing

Cons: So some work on this Berko icon. Was expensive for the quality.
Have stayed at the Penny Farthing many times over the last 11 years. It used to be a little dated back then but very clean and great manager in Edward. I believe it was sold and renovated some years back. The last time I stayed here was 2011 not long after the reno and it was still ok. However, it looks like no maintenance has been done since. We were in room 21. The ceiling had what looked like water damage and pain peeling. The shower was dirty and mouldy. The bathroom blind near the sink was missing the cord to pull it up, so consequently, it was stained an mouldy. It is missing mod-cons you expect these days like USB connections. There is a lack of places to stay on the high street in Berkhamsted so are stuck with either the Kings Arms or the Penny Farthing. Both are owned by the same organisation so don't suppose either is better than the other.
