it seems there was an internal problem because there was a group of employees with a megaphone shouting for hours outside reception, I could hear it in my room and was really annoying, other than that, hotel is nice, food is high quality but too pricey for what it is.

There was a loud noise bed our room at 3:00 am at Hotel Maya.. the people next door were fighting screaming loud and crying. I was not able to sleep good and I couldn’t go back to sleep after I heard the disturbance

We stayed 2 nites in deluxe rm with king size bed and vaulted ceiling at the top level in january. Listed as 4 star hotel. View from floor to ceiling windows is the best around the area. Hotel and restaurant staff was very friendly, attentive and accomodating. There's outside hookah lounge area and overall a great view of the L.A. river and city landscape. Inside the room is very quiet, however, only relatively clean, more like a 2 or 3 star hotel. Furniture is quite dated and scuffed up. Dust evident on lamp bases, edges of wood flooring. Dirty behind couch. Lighting is dim. Cold air from under front door kept the heater going all night with the vaulted ceiling, etc Couch was comfortable. Bed mattress on the soft side. No microwave, parking $38/day. Summer rates of $760 is too high for this room IMHO. You pay for the best location in Long Beach and amazing view from the balcony.

Got to the hotel 6hrs before check in to drop our luggage and try to kill that much time but the guy said we could go ahead and check in! Unheard of anywhere else. Super attentive staff with dining recommendations, freebies and helpful in every way.
