Very disappointed in my stay at Al Raha this week. This was a stay we were really looking forward to. I have stayed all over the world in all levels of accommodation and our room at Al Raha was disgusting. The corridor walking to our room smelled heavily of vomit. When we walked in to our room we we were hit with a strong and distinct stale cigarette smell. The carpet was so dirty and stained that I would not let my children sit on it. It was very badly patched over in places. All our clothes in our open luggage bags smelled of stale cigarette smoke when we arrived at our final destination, so much so that I washed all the clothes again. The gulf view is basically looking onto a building site and noise is constant. The gallery photos of the hotel are very deceiving. I did raise all of my concerns with a member of reception staff staff to be told notes would be added to the profile and on my NEXT stay it would be noted. I will not be staying again. This is not a top resort as advertised. It is tired and over priced.

We had a very spacious well appointed room with big twin beds and an enormous bathroom. The hotel has great swimming recreation - several pools, and a beach and swimming in the sea..

Nice hotel but deluxe doesn't mean deluxe

A New bridge is being constructed across the lagoon which isn't seen in pictures! Not as quiet as could be. Deluxe rooms did not have deluxe towels and no mini bar or wine glasses. Other than that we had a great stay.

Comfortable except on the eye

Pros: Cost, proximity to beach and airport
Cons: The decor - and the pool could open earlier - 8am is a bit late
Location: There's an Irish pub and a shopping mall right next door...
Comfy and clean, but way too many colours! Like most UAE hotels it is vast and getting to your room takes a couple of hours ;) Other than the aesthetic (or lack thereof) it was relatively inexpensive, close to beach and airport as expected, and the staff were very helpful - even gave us an upgrade. The upside is the rooms are large too - the bathroom alone was bigger than some swanky New York hotel rooms I've stayed in.

Building site opposite

Pros: The entrance of the hotel and bathroom
Cons: the fence could have been higher so you couldn't see or hear the many diggers in the background.
Location: It wasn't near anything walkable except a shopping mall which was useful.
It was very noisy with the 3 diggers working in the background beyond the beach and took away any relaxing atmosphere , lots of children screaming on on our first say it was a children's party . The hotel is quite grand but a little out dated and in the middle of nowhere.
