At Wotif.com, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personally identifiable information ("PII") in accordance with accepted privacy principles as described in this policy.

We reserve the right to modify or amend this policy at any time and for any reason. Any material changes to this privacy policy will be posted prior to their implementation. What information we collect

We only record PII and other information that we reasonably require to do business with you.

We use your PII only for the purpose of providing our services and communicating with you in relation to bookings and deals.

Who we share your information with

We do not disclose any information about customer bookings to anyone except the relevant supplier and our services providers.

We believe that site visitors and customers should have control over the collection and use of their PII.

Information we collect

In an effort to keep our service as simple and easy as possible, we do not create, use or store profiles of our customers other than for the purposes of our Wotmail newsletter (see details below). We only record PII and other information that we reasonably require to do business with you.

We collect PII when you:

• Make a booking We collect your full name, email address, phone number and guest/traveller details each time you make a booking with Wotif.com. We will also collect credit card information, including card number, card type, security number, cardholder name, expiry date and issuing bank and country to pay for services purchased through Wotif.com. For Wotif flights bookings we may also collect frequent traveler numbers, seating preferences, passport information and other relevant information as required by the airline.
• Tick 'Remember my details for next time' on booking page We retain your full name, email address, phone number, credit card type, and name on card when you tick 'Remember my details for next time' while making a booking.
• Shortlist properties We use cookies to add properties to your "Shortlist", so that you can access them easily in the future. Properties are added to your shortlist in two ways: when you actively choose to add them from a page on the site; or once you have completed the booking page and clicked Pay Now.

• Subscribe to our Wotmail newsletter We collect email addresses, names, city of residence and communications preferences from people who elect to subscribe to the Wotmail newsletter.
• Participate in surveys, promotions and competition information Occasionally, we may offer site visitors or newsletter recipients an opportunity to participate in a survey, promotion or competition. The PII we collect when you participate in a survey, promotion or competition may include your full name, email address, telephone number and street address.
• Submit a review We collect your name or other identifier nominated by you, other personal details as may be provided by you and your comments when you submit a review to us. We may publish these details.
• Are involved in a card payment dispute If a card payment occurring on our site is disputed, we may request from the supplier of the booked service a copy of the photo ID and other check-in details provided to them. This information may be used by us in connection with the dispute.
• Contact Wotif.com We collect PII such as your full name, email address and/or telephone number and feedback whenever you submit an enquiry or suggestion, provide feedback or comments or request assistance with a booking.

Other information we collect:

• Statistical information When you visit our site, we record general information about your visit for statistical purposes. These statistics do not contain any PII.
• Cookies We and our trusted third party service providers may, from time to time, use "cookies" to store your preferences, record session information and collect information on how you visit and access our web pages and newsletters. This information allows us to continually improve our services to provide you with a better overall experience.
  
  Cookies are small files stored on your computer which allow us to recognise you when you return to our site. Cookies can make the web more useful by storing information about your preferences on a particular site. The use of cookies is an industry standard and many websites use them to provide useful features for you. Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify you, only your computer.
  
  We also use third party cookies to show you Wotif.com advertisements on other websites (remarketing). Our advertisements on other websites maybe based on destinations and products you have searched for or viewed on Wotif.com.
  
  Cookies can be deleted from your computer at any time (see your internet browser's help menu for more information); however, this will remove all cookies and not just those associated with the Wotif.com site.

How we use your information

We use your PII only for the purpose of providing our services and communicating with you in relation to bookings and deals. Information collected on the Wotif.com site may be used to:

• Purchase Wotif.com services Information collected when you purchase from us is used to charge your credit card and deliver your booking confirmation electronically. We may contact you about your booking with related offers from us or our partners we think may be of interest to you. We may also contact you about your stay for customer service and feedback purposes, or to make any changes or cancellations to your booking.
• Display your details when you next book with us We will only display your details if you have ticked 'Remember my details for next time' while making a booking with us. This is done to reduce the information you need to type when you next make a booking. Your full name, email address, phone number, credit card type, and name on card are the only details stored when you select this option. We will also add any property you attempt to book to your shortlist for easier future access.
• Send newsletter email We will only send Wotmail newsletters to people that have opted in to receive them. Subscription to our newsletter occurs either through a user requesting to add their email address in the subscribe box that appears on the Wotif.com website, during the booking process, or entering a competition that requires subscription to our email list.
  Our newsletters provide information about deals which are deemed to be valuable to our customers, and will occasionally offer incentives for completing surveys or participating in competitions or promotions. We use the individual preferences provided to us by newsletter subscribers and their interactions within our newsletters and site to tailor the relevance of our newsletter content. Our newsletters may contain paid advertising material.
• Reviews We use the customer name or other identifier nominated by the customer and the customer’s review comments in accordance with our Review Guidelines.
• Advertising From time to time anonymous usage statistics are used by our third party advertising providers including to serve more relevant advertisements. Your PII is never shared with these parties.
• Respond to your questions or suggestions We will use your email address and/or telephone number to contact you when you submit a question or suggestion.

Who we share your information with

We do not disclose any information about customer bookings to anyone other than the customer or persons who can verify are authorised by the customer in relation to the booking, except in the following circumstances:

• Accommodation, Holiday Rentals and airline suppliers We provide the guest/passenger name, telephone number and (for Holiday Rentals bookings and otherwise in exceptional circumstances only) email address for each booking made to the relevant supplier or its representatives to fulfil your booking. For Wotif flights bookings we may also provide to the airline other relevant information collected from you. Our suppliers require this information for the booking and may use it if they need to contact you about the booking. Although we offer accommodation and flights from reputable suppliers, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of any supplier whose services you book on our website.
• Service providers We work with online payment gateway and fraud detection providers to enable secure credit card transactions on Wotif.com. We provide credit card information (where applicable) relating to bookings to enable them to process and screen the payment on our behalf. We work with a third party email service provider to facilitate our newsletter marketing campaigns using the information described in this policy. They are not permitted to use your email address or share personal information for any other purpose.
• Legal obligations We may be required by law to disclose your PII. We may also disclose information against someone who poses a threat to our interests (such as customer fraud) or whose activities could cause harm to others.

How you control and access your information

We believe that site visitors and customers should have control over the collection and use of their PII. Here's how you can control and have access to your information:

• Newsletter subscription and unsubscription If at any time you would like to either change your email address with us, update your newsletter preferences or unsubscribe from our newsletter you can:
  1. Go to the "Newsletter" section of our site from the home page and follow the instructions to change your email address, update your preferences or unsubscribe; or
  2. Send an email to rooms@wotif.com advising that you would like to unsubscribe, change your preferences or change your email address. Be sure to include details of your old and new email addresses for changes.

• Booking information If at any time you would like to alter the PII you provided us in your booking, please contact us.
• Remember my details for next time If at any time you would like us to stop remembering your details for the next time you book, untick "Remember my details for next time" the next time you make a booking, or contact us.
• General If at any time you want to enquire about any of your PII that we store, please contact us.

How we protect your information

To ensure the confidentiality of your PII, we use leading security technology and procedures that are regularly reviewed and updated.
We will never ask you to send us credit card information by email and we never store any “cvv” credit card security numbers.
We have obtained a digital certificate from Thawte Server CA (part of the VeriSign group), an industry leader in the protection and management of data transmission.
Our systems are configured with industry standard data encryption and firewall technology. When you send PII to us over the Internet, your data is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to ensure safe transmission.
